F.Ave's second annual Read-A-Thon is a fun and easy way for kids and parents to raise funds for our school! The program encourages our children to excel at reading while raising funds to support the PTO in funding future field trips, teacher grants, diversity & equity initiatives, social activities like picnics and movie nights, teacher appreciation, and common area improvements (just to name a few)!

How It Works

1. Gather Reading Sponsors/Pledges (October 12th - October 23rd)
Use the Sponsor Sheet and Sample Letter to Sponsors (click here to download) to sign up family and friends to sponsor your child during Read-A-Thon! Have children talk to neighbors, family friends, grandparents, and other relatives!  Discuss what the Read-A-Thon is and its importance to our school, help them set a goal, and get ready to RAISE and READ! 

2. Read! Read! Read! (October 16th – October 23rd) 
Reading begins at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 16th!  Encourage your child to read as much as they can! Read aloud to your child, take turns reading a book, have them read to you while cooking - any reading counts! Record all minutes your child has read outside of school in the Reading Log daily (click here to download). Students will submit their daily minutes in their main Google Classroom during 8 a.m. Cast Gathering on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Your child must complete all reading by 8 a.m. on Friday, October 23rd for the final tally.

3. Collect all Money Raised (October 23rd - November 13th)

Online Payments can be made via PayPal at All payments are due by Friday, November 13th.

Prefer to pay by Cash or Check? Payments can be dropped off at the F.Ave front desk. Please make checks payable to F.AVE PTO and write "Read-A-Thon" in the memo line.   All payments are due by Friday, November 13th.
